I have not yet tested the Seaguar knot for tying leader to braid. It sounds like you may want to give the PR Bobbin knot a try (w.saltstrong.com/articles/pr-bobbin-knot/)… it takes longer to tie than the FG knot, but I’ve heard that it can handle thicker braids better than the FG knot.
